Bring Back Euro Trains Campaign

The Right Ethos is offering pro bono support to a local campaign group in Kent to bring back international trains to the area which were halted in 2020.

The campaign has launched a petition to demonstrate the sentiment and demand for cross channel connections.

The Right Ethos is helping to find experienced campaigners, communicators and public affairs specialists to offer their expertise for free. Knowledge of the transport sector would be beneficial.

Background

"The group started Back in March 2023 in response to Eurostar services not being re-instated since Covid and the lack of action from local government to do something. A petition was launched which has gained momentum and even noticed by the Eurostar group which we presented to them. We are working collaboratively with Ashford Borough Council who are also promoting the petition and carrying out a business survey to assess impact.

We are no longer just focusing on Euro as Evolyn has shown interest in servicing the London-Paris route.

However we need to increase responses to petition as the data collected serves as a way of understanding the sentiment and demand for cross channel connections and could help towards re-instating a service.

We are looking for people who can help us publicise the petition and surveys in Kent, Sussex and London in particular. We also require volunteers to help us put together a survey to go out to potential users of a cross channel train in Kent so that we can collect data to show this route is profitable and so is worthy of consideration by any train operator. Finally anyone with close connections to and expertise to the transportation industry would be useful in order to understand how they assess opportunities and contacts who could help influence the board."
