Length of Contract: Permanent, full time

Job Details

Background

Every three minutes someone in the UK develops dementia; a progressive and complex condition that can be devastating for the whole family. One in two of us will be affected by dementia in our lifetime – either by caring for someone with the condition, developing it ourselves, or both.

Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nursing charity that is there for the whole family. Our specialist nurses, known as Admiral Nurses, provide free, expert advice, support and understanding to help families care for their loved one. Every day, Admiral Nurses help families up and down the country to have the best life possible for as long as possible.

About the role

This is an exciting new post that will play a key role in the Policy, Campaigns and Public Affairs Team. The Campaign and Engagement Officer will help deliver Dementia UK’s ambitious long-term political influencing strategy so that we can secure improvements to legislation and public policies that have a lasting positive impact on people with dementia, and their families and carers.

The Campaigns and Engagement Officer will support the Campaigns and Engagement Manager and the wider team to shape and implement effective campaign strategies and objectives. They will be the key point of contact for new and existing Dementia UK campaigners, working alongside people affected by dementia to help them powerfully advocate for changes in health and care policy.

The Campaigns and Engagement Officer will collaborate closely with various teams across the Fundraising and Engagement Department, including colleagues in Marketing and Communications to help produce campaign assets and resources that grow Dementia UK’s online campaigning presence on our website, social media, and email.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and a proven track record of developing and delivering fast-paced campaigns or projects with online and offline elements. They will excel at building relationships with a variety of stakeholders, and they will have experience in managing supporters or customers. They will understand the importance of authentically involving people with lived experience in campaigning.

Join us in making a lasting positive difference for, and with, people affected by dementia.
