Shared Health Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation which is passionate about finding solutions so that the impact of poverty on health is reduced. We are absolutely committed to raising awareness and bringing change for the experience of families who are homeless. We have pioneered work to identify families, understand the situation at local and national level through lived experience and research. We now bringing solutions forward. We are based in Oldham in Greater Manchester and would love to have someone join our team who is more London based who will actively engage with MPs, Peers and Local Authorities.

This role working together with our CEO and policy lead will be significant in building consensus across the political spectrum in the next two years alongside networking with other organisations who are interested in this area building a coalition and network. We are really excited to have this role funded and look forward to meeting our new colleague soon.

The person

A keen interest in UK politics and current affairs.

Knowledge and understanding of how policy gets implemented in National government.

Experience of engaging MPs, Peers, civil servants

Experience of hosting, organising and leading an APPG.

An effective networker who can engage a diverse range of people both digital and face to face understanding that relationships are key.

A team player with initiative and a positive “can do” attitude and a self-starter.

An effective communicator, both written and verbal, with a specific ability to communicate well with colleagues and explain complex information simply to internal and external audiences.

Have excellent presentation skills and the ability to present to a wide variety of audiences, tailoring messages according to the audience.

Have an ability to bring people together from different backgrounds and sectors to build connections and establishing effective working relationships.
