Job Details

Want to help young people speak truth to power and make positive change in their communities? Then this is the role for you.

As the National Youth Council of the UK, we bring young people together through our membership network and a range of partner programmes to advocate with and for young people. We are a small but ambitious charity working across the UK to empower young people and to use our national mandate to influence UK Parliament and the Government.

As the Digital Communications and Content Officer you will be working as part of a team to ensure that young people's voices are effectively profiled through our external digital channels. You will be working with colleagues to raise the voice of Members of the UK Youth parliament and the wider Youth Voice programme, along with identifying new ways to enagge young people in the policy process through digital means.

You will bring your excellent communication and teamwork skills to the table, along with a passion for effective digital engagement. Experience of managing digital channels and creating engaging content will be a distinct advantage. You will bring your passion for youth voice and digital delivery to help the British Youth Council deliver successful communications campaigns in an inclusive and equitable manner.

Due to the close working relationship between this work and UK Parliament and Government, the role is based in our London HQ, with an element of hybrid working, and therfore attracts a salary which includes London Weighting.

The British Youth Council is committed to safeguarding and protecting the young people that we work with. As such, all posts are subject to a safe recruitment process, including the disclosure of criminal records and vetting checks. We ensure that we have a range of policies and procedures in place which promote safeguarding and safer working across our services.
