Job Details

Wendy Chamberlain MP (North East Fife) seeks an organised, highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills, driven to support constituents, in the role of Caseworker and Constituency Assistant.

The role is advertised as part time – 22.5 hours per week and based from the MPs constituency office.

Caseworker role will include:
• Handling correspondence from constituents and drafting responses.
• Providing advice and support to constituents on a variety of issues.
• Liaising with national and local agencies.
• Managing own caseload and all identified actions.
• Handling casework in a sensitive and confidential manner, ensuring all accurate records are kept in adherence to the principles of the Data Protection Act and GDPR.
• Handling telephone and customer facing enquiries with an ability to problem solve.
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation/guidelines.
• Administrative support tasks to support Surgeries, Constituency and Community engagement.

Requirements:
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience of a public facing role is beneficial.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and confidence interacting with and advocating on behalf of the MP and Constituents.
• Good IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Office.
• Clear and concise writing style.
• Strong Administration skills and ability to prioritise their workload.
• Ability to learn and adapt across a spectrum of casework on local, political, and national issues.
• Driving Licence is desirable.
• Knowledge of the Constituency is desirable.
