Job Details
Barbara Keeley MP is looking for an experienced Policy Caseworker & Communications Assistant to join her office in Westminster.
Key Responsibilities of this role include:
• Managing policy enquiries from constituents and drafting high quality replies
• Providing support with external communications & social media
• Drafting and designing content for Barbara’s website
• Editing video clips of Barbara’s contributions in the House of Commons and attendance at community and other events
• Producing and presenting high quality written reports and briefing notes as needed
• Attending briefings and other events and disseminating information to Barbara and her team
• Other tasks as may be necessary to support Barbara’s work
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
• An excellent grasp of written English
• Experience of drafting reports and letters
• Experience of managing a caseload
• Experience in using Microsoft Office software
• A working knowledge of applications including WordPress, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premier Pro and Veed.I0
• The ability to prioritise their own workload and to work to tight deadlines
• Experience of creating content for Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram and other platforms
• That they are proactive, organised, reliable and have sympathy with the aims and values of the Labour Party.
There may be a requirement for the role holder to work outside of the normal working hours and travel for work occasionally. The role holder may also need to work in the constituency office in Walkden, Worsley, should a General Election be called.
