Job Details
Zarah Sultana is recruiting a full time Caseworker (40h p/w) for a 12-month maternity cover period. Applications are strongly encouraged from BAME applicants, applicants with protected characteristics and residents of Coventry and surrounding areas.

- Proficient user of Microsoft Office suite, including Teams, Outlook, and SharePoint/One Drive.
The successful candidate must be available to work full time (40h p/w) and will fulfil the following key responsibilities:
- Assist surgeries and other meetings and follow up as appropriate.
- Deal with large numbers of standard queries, as well as assisting on more complex cases from members of the public by phone, email, or face to face. Ongoing communication may be required.
- Draft responses to constituents.
- Ensure that each case is dealt with promptly, sensitively, confidentially, and accurately in accordance with the MP.
- Gather relevant information to assist with resolving cases.
- Retain records and information confidentially and in line with the Data Protection Act.
- There may be a requirement for the role holder to work outside of the normal working hours and travel for work occasionally.
Other desired characteristics include:
- Previous experience and knowledge of local service provision – e.g., housing, adult social care and social work, benefits and welfare systems, and children’s services.
- Clear and concise writing style, excellent interpersonal skills, and passionate about establishing relationships.
- Ability to carry out tasks quickly and to a high standard.
- Being a self-starter with a demonstrable record of taking initiative.
- Ability to manage a large and varied caseload under pressure.

Interview/Start Dates
Candidates must be available for interview in w/c 8 January 2024 and to start in January-February 2024 to be considered for this role.
