Bell Ribeiro-Addy, Member of Parliament for Streatham is seeking a full-time intern to join her team in Westminster, who will assist with Parliamentary and communications work.
The internship is full time for 4 months with the potential of extension.

About you:
• You’re hard-working, enthusiastic and punctual with a great eye for detail;
• Have excellent academic credentials;
• Can easily prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines;
•Has excellent oral and written communication skills and have a strong interest in politics with a desire to gain experience in comms and how Westminster operates.
• Feel at ease working with a wide variety of people from different walks of life;
• Ability to undertake desk based research;
•Confidence in their ability to manage social media campaigns and ideally have knowledge in managing website content.
•A strong team player but with an ability to use initiative and work independently;
• Have prior experience working in a professional environment;
• Sympathetic with the aims and values of the Labour Party.

Your responsibilities:
• Learning/assisting in drafting responses to constituents;
• Required to assist with routine and repetitive data input;
•Manage social media content and expansion;
•Maintain website and update when necessary.
•Learning/assisting in appropriate research;
• Attending surgeries and other meetings as part of training;
• Opening and dispatching mail;
• Basic administrative support;
• Learning how to analyse, evaluate and interpret data.

More about the role:
•Will gain key training and experience in Parliamentary procedures including drafting questions as well as monitoring press, drafting press releases, blog posts and articles.
•Will be required to work primarily from the constituency office in Brixton and occasionally in Westminster.
•Occasional evening or weekend work will be required.

Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
