Our flexible, digital network offers expert senior counsel from experienced public affairs practitioners based across the UK. Recent client growth means that Barndoor Strategy is seeking to expand its network. Our focus is high-quality strategic support for our clients from experienced Senior Consultants.

We are recruiting for both a Research Associate and a Senior Consultant role. All backgrounds and experience will be considered. Especially if you are juggling other responsibilities or seeking to return to the workplace after a career break.

Senior Consultant:

Barndoor Strategy is specifically seeking experienced senior freelance consultants adept at direct client handling with a proven track record of advising on public policy issues in the UK and EU in the areas of:

• Financial Services;
• Trade policy;
• Tech; or
• Energy.

Our Senior Consultants have typically gained a deep knowledge of policy development, parliamentary procedure and practice through working at Westminster, for the civil service, for a think tank, regulatory body, or in a corporate public affairs role.

Research Associate:

The primary responsibility of this role will be to provide our senior consultancy team with:

• Parliamentary Monitoring;
• Political and Policy Research;
• Event Management Support;
• Copywriting and Website Posting

This role will ideally suit candidates with previous experience of working at a public affairs consultancy or in a policy role in Westminster or Whitehall seeking a more flexible, remote-based role or looking to return to work after a career break.

Both roles will be remote, contract based freelance roles aimed at those already working as a freelancer or seeking freelance opportunities. We anticipate that you many have other clients, responsibilities or outside interests. Occasional travel to Westminster, Cardiff of Edinburgh parliaments may be required from time to time on certain projects.
