Job Details

David Mundell MP is looking for a full-time Caseworker to be based in either his Westminster or constituency office, with some scope to work from home.

Duties include:

• Draft responses to constituent emails and letters, including policy queries, constituency issues and campaigns.
• Ensure cases are dealt with in a sensitive, confidential and timely manner
• Travel to and time in the constituency
• Ensure records of contact with constituents are kept, adhering to the Data Protection Act and respecting the confidentiality of data at all times
• To lead casework with UK Government but also liaise with local and voluntary bodies
• There may be a requirement for the role holder to work outside of the normal working hours and travel for work occasionally

Skills required include:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• A desire to provide a high quality service to constituents
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Can do attitude
• Awareness of central and local government structures
• The ability and desire to learn quickly and take on board new challenges
• Good IT skills including knowledge of MS Office packages
• Highly organised and capable of dealing with a large and varied workload
• Sympathetic to the aims and values of the Conservative Party.
