We are seeking to hire an experienced Technology Policy Advisor to join our Technology Policy Team. Working to the Director of Technology Policy, this role will help to shape the next Labour government’s policy and leadership around technology.

Key responsibilities and functions:

• Undertake research and monitoring on a range of tech policy issues
• Write briefings, blogs and policy papers
• Conduct robust, evidence-based policy analysis to contribute to advice and publications
• Propose and lead discrete policy projects
• Help to grow and develop our networks in the tech sector, tech policy community and academia
• Design and run public and private events to help us develop, test and communicate our ideas
• Contribute to the strategy and development of the Tech Policy team, and of the wider organisation

Key competences, attributes and experience:

• First-rate written and spoken communication skills
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, able to gather, interrogate and summarise large volumes of written and numerical evidence to draw out the most significant implications
• Organised and self-motivated
• At least 2 years’ experience in policy, in an adjacent discipline, or in the tech sector
• An excitement about Labour Together’s strategy and direction
• A commitment to harnessing and directing technology for the benefit of ordinary people
• Strong team player, with excellent interpersonal skills
