Job Title: Programme Manager (Nature and land-use)

Job Details

As a Programme Manager in our independent organisation focussed on building environmental ambition across the labour movement, you will play a crucial role in developing LCEF’s delivery programme for nature and land-use. You will be responsible for driving impactful change for political action on tackling the environmental emergency at every political level and across the UK. You will deliver on LCEF’s core activities including political advocacy, stakeholder convening, project delivery and policy framing.

The ideal candidate will have a strong record of delivery on environmental issues with a good knowledge of the stakeholders and political issues within this policy sphere. They will be a deliverer, able to produce meaningful change whilst adhering to LCEF’s central vision and theory of change.

Responsibilities include:

Political advocacy and stakeholder engagement
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across all parts of the labour movement.
• Cultivate and build strategic relationships with relevant organisations in the union and NGO sectors, businesses, and the media.
• Represent LCEF at events and conferences to enhance networks and increase visibility.

Project delivery
• Support the design and implementation of LCEF’s nature and land-use programme.
• Monitor and evaluate LCEF’s activity to ensure it is delivering against the programme’s objectives.
• Plan and produce LCEF outputs, including briefings, reports and events that work towards LCEF’s strategic aims.

Communications
• Develop frames and narratives that best work for raising ambitious nature and land-use policies at a local and national level.
• Manage the programme’s comms outputs including social media, press releases and broadcast media.

Policy development
• Work with stakeholders to develop ambitious and progressive nature and land management policies, including support for nature-friendly farming.
• Stay informed and up-to-date on developments in the political, union and environmental landscapes to contribute to the shaping of the programme.

Strategic delivery
• Work as part of a small yet highly motivated team to deliver LCEF’s strategic aims.
• Foster a positive and inclusive work culture that promotes collaboration, creativity and ambition.
