Description:

In this temporary Researcher role, you will be scoping out the opportunity to start a new not-for-profit focused on heat policy in the UK (and potentially internationally).

We are aiming to conduct an 8-week research phase in order to expand and deepen our understanding of the space and what is most needed. The research phase aims to answer some key questions regarding the heat sector, and the role that a new organisation could play in bringing about system change. By the end of the 8 weeks, we’re aiming to have a clear understanding of: heat decarbonisation solutions in the UK; the current state of heat policy; the broader systemic context (e.g. supply chain, jobs, training and skills); facts, myths and mythbusting; and overall drivers, enablers, and barriers for consumers, policy, and industry.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of heat and the decarbonisation of heat in the UK context
  • Strong understanding of UK policy processes and relevant government stakeholders
  • Experience of data collection and analysis (mainly qualitative)
  • Experience working with not-for-profits or mission-driven companies, in particular developing a theory of change or impact thesis
  • (Desirable) Existing network within the sector (heat not-for-profits, policy, industry)

Closing Date: 28 February 2025

Interview/Start Dates

Interviews will take place starting next week (week commencing the 26th) and start date will be as soon as possible.
