AMOSSHE is a not-for-profit professional membership association for Student Services in higher education. Our members support students in fulfilling their academic potential and making the most of university life. We inform and support Student Services leaders by sharing good practice and enhancing professional development.
You would be joining the organisation at an exciting time when we’re finishing our current strategy and planning for the future.
Role description
As the Senior Policy and Research Officer you’ll play a crucial role in engaging with and supporting our members on policy and research initiatives aligned with AMOSSHE’s strategic vision. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Policy and representation:
- Providing policy updates on various areas related to Student Services.
- Working with members to identify policy trends and topics.
- Leading responses to sector consultations.
- Working with the AMOSSHE Executive Committee, Executive Director, and Head of Engagement.
2. Interpreting data and research
- Undertaking sector research, analysing data, and reporting on findings.
- Contextualising research in relation to the higher education policy landscape.
- Suggesting recommendations for the benefit of our members.Presenting research findings to members in an accessible manner.
Qualifications and skills
We’re looking for candidates who have:
- A strong background in policy analysis and research.
- Excellent communication skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders.
- A passion for enhancing the student experience in higher education.
