The St Albans Conservative Association is looking to recruit a social media student/intern to support our Association and Parliamentary Candidate in the build up to, and during, the next General Election.

This is a voluntary position with agreed expenses only being paid. This is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to gain experience in the world of politics, to develop skills and enhance their CV.

Successful applicants will be based in our office in London Colney, but with the understanding that a large amount of the work will take place working from home.
If successful, you will assist with:

Main responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Publicising St Albans Association and related news.
• Producing, updating our online content on various platforms.
• Producing online graphics and video content.
• Monitoring political media, liaising with officers, councillors and candidates.
• Managing and monitoring social media queries and comments.

Capabilities required:
• Proficiency across various social media platforms is essential.
• Strong research, analytical and writing skills.
• Ability to learn quickly and work under pressure.
• Highly organised, able to prioritise.
• Personal initiative and a proactive work ethic.
• Personable and able to work as part of a small team.
• The ability to maintain complete discretion and confidentiality.

Desired Experience/Qualities:
• A background in online content creation would be a strong advantage.
• Experience in graphic and design skills, including photography and/or videography would be an advantage.
• Familiarity with the St Albans constituency would be preferable.
• Supportive of the aims and values of the Conservative Party.
