This is an exciting time to join Lewisham Council and the Mayor & Cabinet Office. The borough has just elected Brenda Dacres as its new Mayor and we are looking for a Cabinet Executive Officer to join the team and help support our Cabinet Members drive delivery in their portfolios and be as effective as possible in their roles.

What’s the role?
As a Cabinet Executive Officer, you'll be the backbone of our Cabinet Members' operations. From conducting research to managing diaries, your days will be filled with diverse tasks aimed at facilitating seamless communication, driving policy development forward and providing administrative support.

What You'll Do:
Be the go-to liaison between our Cabinet Members, the Mayor, officers, and external partners.
Keep Cabinet Members informed and empowered with insightful briefings on key policy and political issues.
Navigate through complex situations to ensure our Cabinet Members can focus on what they do best.
Dive into policy casework with sensitivity and efficiency, ensuring that every inquiry is handled with care.
Stay ahead of the curve by proactively monitoring policy developments and initiatives, keeping our Cabinet Members in the loop.
Collaborate closely with stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.

The job is primarily based in Laurence House (Catford), but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.
