The Centre for Social Justice is looking for an analytical individual with excellent research skills to join the CSJ’s Exclusions and Absence programme.
The successful candidate will build on the work of the IntegratED Alternative Provision Quality Toolkit and the CSJ’s recent report “Suspending Reality”. The successful candidate will lead their own research projects in the area of school exclusions and alternative provision, with a view to informing systemic change in our education system - both to eliminate avoidable exclusions, improve the quality of alternative provision and support children to engage with their education.
This research will be informed by close working with the education sector, the Department for Education and a large network of charities across the country that work directly with families and children. The candidate will also continue to work with the Programme Lead to drive the flagship campaign on school absence, including with a regular tracker, supporting comment and analysis for the press and identifying new ways to drive the campaign forward. The candidate will also support key political relationships through providing the secretariat support for the All-Party Parliamentary Group on School Exclusions and Alternative Provision.
There is also scope for the candidate to drive new projects in education, dependent on experience and the wider direction of the team.
