The United Kingdom Warehousing Association (UKWA) is the dedicated trade association for the UK’s vital warehousing sector. We represent 1,000 member companies who together operate around 200 million square feet of warehousing and distribution space across thousands of locations.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Professionally represent UKWA through effective and collaborative relationships with stakeholders including UKWA’s external policy agency (Public Affairs Group) as well as civil servants within the UK Government’s Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities (DLUHC), Department for Transport (DfT), Department for Work & Pensions (DWP) and more.
Research policy topics such as levelling up, planning, business rates, skills funding, access to work, R&D investment, green finance initiatives and others relevant to the UK’s warehousing sector.
Draft policy papers, trade press articles, briefing notes and presentation slides.
Work on ad hoc project-based activities to support UKWA’s wider work.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Commitment to learn about the UK’s warehousing sector.
Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple issues and deadlines.
Self-motivated, resourceful and able to work independently.
Competent communicator: a good listener with excellent spoken and written English.
Analytical and data analysis.
Right to work in the UK.
PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Knowledge and experience of the warehousing and logistics sector.
Experienced in engaging with UK Government on relevant matters of public policy.
Interviews for shortlisted candidates will take place virtually w/c 8th April 2024. The successful candidate will start in April / May 2024.
