WPI Economics is an economics, data insight and public policy consultancy that specialises in conducting research, analysis and modelling that makes an impact on important social and economic policy debates.
Our consultancy is continuing to grow, and we are looking for a new senior economist or senior social researcher to join our team.
Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Managing our portfolio of economic evaluations for government clients
- Managing broader (non-government) projects on a case-by-case basis
- Representing WPI Economics externally with clients and other stakeholders
- Managing the work of more junior members of the team
- Contributing analysis to specific projects (either quantitative or qualitative depending on your expertise) and contributing to the drafting of reports for projects you are involved with
- Helping to influence policy and Government decision making
- Authoring pitches for new work in areas suited to your knowledge and skills
Essential criteria:
- Project management: experience of managing the delivery of projects to achieve clients’ goals to time and budget, with experience of managing project teams
- Stakeholder management: experience of successfully managing relationships with key stakeholders/clients
- Exceptional communications and writing skills: the ability to communicate clearly and credibly, convey analytical points concisely and authoritatively, in both verbal and written formats
- Research knowledge: significant experience in undertaking and leading government appraisal and/or evaluation approaches and guidance – to produce robust, credible and insightful analyses and summaries of policy issues
- Political awareness: an appreciation and understanding of political news, trends, and issues, and the ability to understand their implications for the business and clients.
