The Role
This role is at the heart of the Jobs Foundation as we develop and grow following our public launch last year. We are expanding our team to support with our Business Council recruitment efforts, as well as our political and policy engagement and social media footprint.
This will be a varied role, where you will be able to get stuck into a range of different issues and activities. You would be strongly supported and encouraged in this role by senior members of the team and other colleagues, and where possible, we would strive to facilitate your development and involvement in any areas of particular interest within the activities of the Jobs Foundation and the broader policy and business environment.
Responsibilities
• Working alongside colleagues, to support with the recruitment of 1,000 Business Council members, including through communication and outreach with existing and prospective members, our Advisory Council, and our Trustees.
• To support the Jobs Foundation’s events and outreach strategy, including taking an active role in developing and executing plans for attending relevant business and policy events.
• To help develop social media strategy and social media posts through LinkedIn and our website, as well as using social media to proactively engage with prospective members.
• To help monitor and track policy developments from government, parliament, and third-sector organisations and develop briefings and updates that outline the relevance of these to the Jobs Foundation’s objectives where appropriate.
• To support with the broader efforts of the team as we scale-up.
Essential Candidate Requirements
• Adept at working to deliver in a small but growing fast-paced team, and an enthusiasm for new challenges.
• Well-organised and able to manage competing deadlines and requirements with a high degree of professionalism.
• An interest in the UK business community and the contribution that businesses make to social justice.
• An awareness of the policymaking process in Westminster and the broader political environment.
• An ability to work with and engage with external stakeholders, including Business Council members, prospective members, and policymakers where relevant.
• An understanding of social media platforms and an ability to develop content.
