Senior Parliamentary Researcher (Economic Policy, Industrial Strategy, and Green Transition)

Jeevun Sandher the newly elected MP for Loughborough is seeking a senior Parliamentary researcher to play a leading role in his Westminster office to provide research and briefings and general parliamentary activity support.

Dr. Sandher’s work will focus on how to build a new net-zero economy where every place and person can benefit within our planetary limits. He has a background in economic policy and is looking for a candidate to help assist him with this work in parliament.

This role has been created to help support his work influencing policy with a particular focus on economic policy, industrial strategy, and the green transition. An understanding of one or more of these policy areas is therefore essential.

The role includes supporting the MP across all parliamentary activities so an understanding of how parliament really works would be desirable but is not essential. This can be learnt.

Upon appointment you will be required to comply with the Baseline Personnel Security Standard, undertaken by the Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO). See Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO) page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.

Interview/Start Dates

Interviews to take place soon after the closing date. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified and sent details of the interview process. Interviews will be held onlin or in person by mutual agreement. 

The successful candidate will be invited to start in the role as soon as possible.
