Job Details
Shockat Adam, MP for Leicester South, is looking for enthusiastic and responsible individuals to work as part of a constituency casework team that will provide an outstanding and committed service to the people of leicester South.
The constituency team will be office-based, with the ability to work from home on occasion – so the successful candidate will need to adapt to this with the appropriate support provided. Flexible working hours will also be considered.
Flexibility to work on the occasional evening and weekend will be required, which will be compensated with time off in lieu.
Key responsibilities:
• Manage large numbers of standard queries and assist on more complex cases from members of the public by phone, email, social media, or face-to-face. Ongoing communication may be required.
• Gather relevant information to assist with resolving cases.
• Liaise with government agencies, the voluntary sector, and others to resolve constituency matters.
• Log all cases; monitor progress and ensure all identified actions are taken.
• Ensure records are kept and information managed confidentially in line with the data protection legislation.
• Assist with surgeries and other meetings and follow up as appropriate.
• Ensure that each case is dealt with promptly, sensitively, confidentially, and accurately in accordance with the MP.
Shockat is looking for someone who:

• Has sound judgment in dealing with sensitive issues
• Has excellent attention to detail
• Can prioritise and manage a large workload independently
• Has experience managing and coaching others
• Is committed to teamwork and working effectively with others
• Is flexible and has a ‘can do’ approach
• Is proficient in basic IT
