Job Title: Constituency Office Manager

Salary: IPSA scale £31,967 - £52,793 depending on experience

Job Details
Key responsibilities
- Lead and maintain a highly professional administrative support function for the MP’s office
- Manage staff and conduct HR processes
- Work with the parliamentary assistant to ensure the inbox is managed effectively
- Collate all required information from team members to present to the MP
- Deal with security matters, keep abreast of security guidance, maintain the security system, liaise with external bodies as appropriate
- Ensure the office is fully equipped
- Manage the office team, ensuring accurate personnel records are kept and notifying IPSA of contractual changes as necessary
- Ensure the office remains legally compliant, including overseeing health and safety, fire and data protection compliance
- Responsibility for managing all aspects of the budget, keeping the MP informed of all relevant financial matters and liaising with IPSA on office finance
- Management of complex cases
- Have final sign off on all relevant delegated areas from the MP, for example constituent correspondence
- Horizon-scanning, anticipate what advice or action may be required; proactively identify problems and resolve them
- Identify training opportunities and ensure the office team maintain and develop knowledge of relevant legislation where appropriate
- Liaise with groups/personnel including at Westminster, within the constituency and the general public on the MP’s behalf as necessary
- Working with the communications officer to plan the MPs internal communications and external stakeholder engagement and provide strategic advice on constituent matters on behalf of the MP where appropriate
- Provide high quality, efficient and effective support to the MP as required
- Support and manage the recruitment of staff for the MP’s office
- Other tasks as may be required by the MP
- There may be a requirement for the role holder to work outside of normal working hours, including attending events with the MP as required

- Previous political experience is not essential
- A can-do and proactive attitude
- Personable and able to easily engage with people from all backgrounds

Closes midnight Wednesday 31st July. Interviews will take place on Monday 12th and Tuesday 14th in Morecambe and may include a testing element. Start date will be as soon as reasonably practicable.

Running a busy constituency office, your focus will be on supporting Lizzi to deliver for her constituents. Lizzi will have a strong focus on casework and constituency events, alongside her parliamentary work for the area.
