Salary: In line with IPSA pay scales (£31,967-£52,793) dependant on experience

Job Details
Ths role will be based primarily in the constituency, with hybrid working available. It is advertised as a full-time role, but applicants seeking part-time hours will be considered.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deal with security matters, keep abreast of security guidance, and maintain the security system
- Horizon-scanning, anticipate what advice or action may be required; proactively identify problems and resolve them
- Identify training opportunities and ensure the office team maintain and develop knowledge of relevant legislation where appropriate
- Lead and maintain a highly professional administrative support function for the MP’s office
- Liaise with groups/personnel including at Westminster, within the constituency and the general public on the MP’s behalf as necessary
- Manage the office team, ensuring accurate personnel records are kept and notifying IPSA of contractual changes as necessary
- Management of the Member's diary commitments, delegating tasks to others as appropriate
- Communications and external stakeholder engagement and provide strategic advice
- Support and manage the recruitment of staff for the MP’s office
- Responsibility for managing all aspects of the budget, keeping the MP informed of all relevant financial matters and liasing with IPSA on office finance.
Essential criteria:
- Management experience
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a small team
- Ability to multi-task and manage a wide range of competing priorities
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Reliable, diligent and professional in representing the office at all times.
Desirable experience:
- Thorough understanding of data protection legislation
- Prior parliamentary experience
- Experience of IPSA systems or other financial management experience
There may be a requirement for the role holder to work outside of the normal working hours, including attending events with the MP as required.
