Job Details
Mike Martin, MP for Tunbridge Wells, is seeking a highly capable and dedicated Administrative Manager to provide crucial support in his role serving the constituency.
This position is vital to ensuring the smooth running of the day-to-day activities and maximising Mike's effectiveness. The ideal candidate will be exceptionally organized, discreet, and able to thrive in a fast-paced political environment.
Key responsibilities include:
• Handling correspondence, including emails, letters and phone calls
• Organizing travel arrangements and logistics for constituency visits and parliamentary sessions
• Assisting with arrangements for events – including venue research, managing guest lists and providing on-the-day support
• Providing administrative support at surgeries where required
• Ensuring accurate records are kept and managed appropriately
• Liaising with constituents, party officials, government departments, and other stakeholders
• Maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with utmost discretion and in line with data protection legislation
• Providing administrative support, including expense management and document preparation, to the parliamentary and Tunbridge Wells office
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to prioritise effectively in a demanding environment.
You will be experienced in the MS Office suite and be able to demonstrate you can quickly pick up and master bespoke digital platforms such CRM and travel booking sites.
There may be a requirement for the role holder to work outside of normal hours and travel for work occasionally to the Westminster office.
Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
