Job Details
Alex Baker MP is recruiting 2x Caseworkers to join her constituency office team. We are open to conversations regarding full/part-time contracts depending on your preference.
The successful candidates will demonstrate the following values and skills while assisting constituents:
· A compassionate person with a strong sense of justice, a natural ability to empathise with others, and a determination to fight for fair outcomes.
· Ability to adapt and work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team who manage diverse and varying workloads .
· Capacity to respond patiently and politely to changing demands from constituents.
· Excellent research, writing, and verbal communication skills.
· Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to manage competing work priorities.
· Proficient user of Microsoft 365 suite, including Teams, Outlook, and SharePoint/One Drive.
The successful candidates will fulfil the following key responsibilities:
· Deal with large numbers of standard queries, as well as assisting on more complex cases from members of the public by phone, email, or face to face.
· Draft responses to constituents.
· Assist with surgeries and other meetings and follow up as appropriate.
· Ensure that each case is dealt with promptly, sensitively, confidentially, and accurately in accordance with the MP and Labour policy.
· Gather relevant information to assist with resolving cases.
· Retain records and information confidentially and in line with the Data Protection Act.
Other desired characteristics include:
· Clear and concise writing style, excellent interpersonal skills, and passionate about establishing relationships.
· Ability to carry out tasks quickly and to a high standard.
· Being a self-starter with a demonstrable record of taking initiative.
· Ability to manage a large and varied caseload under pressure.
Written and spoken Nepali language skills would be an advantage.
