Job Details

Andrew Western MP is looking to recruit a Campaigns & Communications Manager to join his Stretford constituency office on a full-time basis, supporting his work for the constituents of Stretford and Urmston

Duties will include, but not limited to:

• Responsibility for the management, maintenance and development of all external communications including website, social media and presence in the constituency
• Produce online graphics and video content
• Proactive and reactive communications with all media, meeting deadlines as appropriate and liaise with local and national press when required
• Lead on constituency facing campaigns, using a variety of methods (petitions, surveys, etc.) to engage constituents
• Liaise with the casework team to identify opportunities to deliver impactful interventions in Parliament and the constituency
• Work with the Office Manager to arrange and publicise visits and events in the constituency
• There may be a requirement for the role holder to work outside of the normal working hours and travel for work occasionally

Person Specification

Essential:

• Previous experience in creating and editing online graphics and video content.
• Previous experience in managing a website
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce high-quality press releases and media content
• Experience in using social media platforms, including creating engaging content, monitoring interactions, and responding to enquiries
• Self -starter with ability to prioritise and manage heavy workload in a busy environment
• Awareness of current political issues
• Commitment to Labour values

Desirable:

• Knowledge of the Stretford and Urmston constituency and the issues it faces
• Previous experience working in an MPs office

Upon appointment you will be required to comply with the Baseline Personnel Security Standard, undertaken by the Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO). See Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO) page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
