The Athena Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation supporting three influential All Party Parliamentary Groups, is recruiting a full-time Campaigns and Programme Manager

Role description

  • Designing, planning and leading the implementation of creative and effective campaigns 
  • Agreeing and communicating overall vision and direction for each APPG
  • Leading on Fundraising efforts via philanthropic funders and private sponsors
  • Strategic oversight and leadership on key activities and budgeting
  • Establishing milestones and monitoring progress of plans and schedules.
  • Co-ordinating and managing workstreams and projects for the APPGs
  • Co-ordination of staff and resources 

The position will involve:

  • Working with Athena Directors to develop and evaluate strategic plans, goals and objectives and establish milestones
  • Leadership and day-to-day management and supervision of junior staff
  • Effective use of CRM and project management software tools to oversee programme and project/workstream plans and track and monitor progress and changes
  • Monitoring developments in Parliament, Government, and devolved administrations relevant to policy and our campaign strategy
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key partners and stakeholders.
  • Liaison and engagement with civil society partners on policy alignment 
  • Co-ordinating and collaborating with multiple teams within parliament as well as external partners
  • Co-ordinating the development of materials to support campaigns
  • Overseeing drafting of publications, briefings, and submissions for external and parliamentary audiences 
  • Working collaboratively to create timely, engaging, relevant content and policy
  • Overseeing social media and press strategy
  • Attending and contributing to external events and meetings 
  • Helping to build contacts at UK Government official level, as well as in the devolved administrations
  • Contributing to employee and organisational development

Requirements and Skills

  • Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills.
  • IT Proficient, including in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven management and leadership skills
  • Cost-control and budgeting skill
  • Good attention to detail
