Danny Beales MP is looking to recruit a Parliamentary Assistant, for a fixed term of one year, to provide administrative and research support in his Westminster Office.
Danny experienced homelessness twice growing up. He was motivated to get involved in politics as a result and started his career through an internship in Parliament. He is keen to provide similar opportunities to others who have experienced homelessness.
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and enthusiastic, with excellent writing skills and able to work autonomously.
Key Responsibilities
Research key policy areas and provide concise, insightful briefings to Danny as required.
Assist Danny by identifying opportunities that will maximise his impact on his key policy interests.
Work closely with the Senior Communications Advisor to support with the creation of communications and social media content to promote Danny’s work in Parliament.
Work closely with the team to respond to constituent policy enquiries, escalating to Danny where appropriate.
Undertake research on a range of subjects
Draft speeches and parliamentary questions on issues relating to Danny’s position as a Constituency MP.
Person Specification
A self-starter, able to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent written and verbal communication, drafting skills and attention to detail
Exemplary time management and organisational skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal with stakeholders
An interest in politics and knowledge of Parliament
Support for the aims and values of the Labour Party
Interest in or experience with homelessness
