About us:
Danu Insight's mission is to transform how governments and financial institutions address systemic risks, particularly climate change. Recognizing the significant influence of corporate climate lobbying on policy-making, we specialise in analyzing and assessing these activities to promote greater transparency and accountability.
The position:
You will be working with the Director and our small team. The position will be entirely remote, with some in-person meetings. Th internship is 4-days a week.
This role will be varied and will include:
- Analysing climate policy and climate lobbying activities
- Developing machine-learning training datasets
- Training AI models to analyse political lobbying
- Supporting the Director
- Working within Python and ChatGPT to automate processes
Person Specification:
A concern for climate change and biodiversity loss and the need for urgent Government-led regulatory responses is a expected. You must be able to think independently, be proactive, and be intellectually curious. The position is suited to someone interested in a career in climate change, politics, think tanks, NGOs, finance, or AI.
Essential skills or attributes:
- Highly analytical and able to discern the nuance of complex climate policy and how it is influenced.
- Must be able to work and problem-solve independently
- Interest in climate change, politics and AI
- A good university degree
- Intellectually engaged
- Willingness to learn
Desirable skills:
- Experience with Python
- Knowledge of ChatGPT/AI
What will you gain from the position?
You will be introduced to climate politics, the science of climate change, the relationship between corporations and policymaking, and how the financial system works.
You will mainly work with the Director, who has built two climate-policy-related start-ups. You will have the opportunity to join calls with a range of intelligent and influential individuals. You will gain experience in government policy analysis, engagement with the business sector, and an understanding of the NGO sector.
You will also learn how Danu Insight has developed advanced data science, machine learning models, and large language machines (LLMS) to automate data aggregation and analysis. You will be introduced to the basics of the Python coding platform and will be expected to develop your skills in this.
