Job Details

Jodie Gosling MP is looking for a full time Caseworker to join her constituency team in Nuneaton. You must have excellent communication and teamwork skills. The successful applicant will be expected to act independently, providing information, advice, signposting and support to constituents on a range of issues including immigration, housing, benefits, other social issues, making appropriate representations on their behalf.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to a wide variety of constituent needs accurately, efficiently, and with empathy, by phone, in person, email, or mail.
  • Attend advice surgeries and other meetings as required.
  • Liaise with third parties such as Government and Council departments, charities and local organisations.
  • Respond to inquiries from constituents, Government and Council departments, and companies.
  • Manage a large number of cases, identifying patterns in casework that Jodie can address with relevant Ministers, Government departments, Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, North Warwickshire Borough Council and Warwickshire County Council.
  • Design responses to policy campaigns, using research services and knowledge sharing platforms.

Essential Skills Required:

  • Strong knowledge of the Nuneaton constituency.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage a large and varied caseload, working well under pressure.
  • Handle complex, time-sensitive, and often emotive issues accurately, efficiently, and with empathy.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate case records.
  • Customer service or public facing experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Good IT skills, including experience with MS Office applications.
  • Ability to write letters and emails to a high professional standard.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, while also working effectively as part of a small team alongside the Senior Caseworker.
  • Supportive of the values of the Labour Party.

Desirable Skills:

  • Previous casework experience or good knowledge of issues that generate MP casework, gained through an MP or local government office, grassroots organizations, or third-sector work. Previous knowledge of the Caseworker.mp system.

Additional Information:
Evening and weekend work may be required, as necessary
