Job Details
We are looking for dedicated and empathetic Caseworkers to join the Olly Glover MP’s team in Didcot and Wantage, providing outstanding support to local residents. Working in a small team, alongside the MP, you will be supporting individuals and communities - helping to find practical solutions to the challenges they face.
While no specific qualification or experience is required, knowledge of housing, welfare, immigration, employment, health, or other community services would be advantageous. You will be an excellent communicator both verbally and in writing and have solid IT and organisational skills. You will take a pro-active approach to working with other organisations, services, and community organisations to manage a caseload and contribute to positive outcomes for local people.
Responsibilities
• Engage professionally, confidentially and with care and integrity with members of the public, through a variety of methods
• Handle a high volume of standard queries while assisting with complex cases through phone, email, or in-person interactions, maintaining ongoing communication as needed
• Ensure each case is dealt with promptly, sensitively, and confidentially in accordance with the MP’s guidelines
• Draft thoughtful responses to constituents and ensure records are kept in line with data protection legislation.
• Gather relevant information to assist in resolving cases effectively
• Ensure all cases are recorded in line with safeguarding and data protection best practice
• Brief the MP about specific cases when requested and accompany the MP at surgeries and meetings with residents as required (this could occasionally be outside of regular office hours)
This role will predominantly be based in the constituency office (in the Didcot area).
