Job Details

Miatta Fahnbulleh MP is looking for two highly committed individuals for the role of Caseworker in her busy Peckham Constituency office.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing casework and gathering relevant information to progress and resolve cases
  • Ensuring cases and decisions are documented and their progress monitored
  • Logging cases, maintaining records and producing casework reports
  • Gathering the relevant information to assit with resolving cases
  • Drafting responses to constituents
  • Assisting with surgeries and constitunecy coffee mornings
  • Providing briefings for the MP
  • Supporting the delivery of strategic constituency projects
  • Retaining records and information confidentially in line with the Data Protection Act
  • Liasing and engaging with external stakeholders

Essential skills required:

Essential Skills Required:

  • Ability to prioritise and manage a large and varied caseload, working well under pressure.
  • Handle complex, time-sensitive, and often emotive issues accurately, efficiently, and with empathy.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate case records.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Good IT skills, including experience with MS Office applications.
  • Ability to write letters and emails to a high professional standard.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, while also working effectively as part of a small team alongside the Senior Caseworker.
  • Support the aims and values of The Labour Party.

Additional information:

There may be a requirement to work outside of normal hours, including evenings and weekends and occasional travel for work.

Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
