Job Details
Miatta Fahnbulleh MP is looking for a highly committed individual for the role of Senior Policy Researcher in her busy constituency office.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Analysing, evaluating and interpreting data to ensure the Memebr is accuratley informed on key issues
- Lead on constituency projects across key priorities
- Dealing with complex queries and complaints on the MP's behalf, including drafting letters
- Establishing and developing appropriate strategies around research development
- Horizon scanning, anticipate what advice or action may be required, proactivley identify problems and resolve them
- Lead on project work as required
- Lead and organise community engagement events
- Building relationships with and liasing with key stakeholders
- Respond to routine correspondence and enquiries from constituents, lobbyists and pressure groups
- Respond to policy enquiries from constituents
- Take ownership of certian casework as required
- To produce and present high quality written reports, briefing notes and professional advice
- Undertake research on relevant subjects as directed
- Undertake supervisory responsibility as required
Essential Skills Required:
- Ability to prioritise and manage a large and varied caseload, working well under pressure.
- Handle complex, time-sensitive, and often emotive issues accurately, efficiently, and with empathy.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate case records.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Good IT skills, including experience with MS Office applications.
- Ability to write letters and emails to a high professional standard.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, while also working effectively as part of a small team
- Supportive of the aims and values of The Labour Party.
Additional information:
There may be a requirement to work outisde of normal hours, including evenings and weekends and some occasional travel for work.
