Job Details
Working with the MP and Parliamentary Assistant, you will support the MP’s work by conducting research, briefings, and providing policy advice and support.
The successful candidate will have strong organisational research skills and the ability to prioritise tasks, experience of preparing written and verbal briefing materials and the ability to work proactively with a variety of stakeholders.
There may be a requirement for the role holder to work outside of normal working hours, including assisting with events with the MP as requested.
• A strong record of preparing reports and analysis quickly and to a high standard
• Experience of working in a fast paced and political environment
• Experience of working alone and as part of a wider team
• Understanding of the parliamentary process and public policy
• Good knowledge of politics, Parliament and current affairs
• Strong written, organisational and verbal communication skills
• High standards of accuracy and acute attention to detail
• Ability to manage workload effectively and produce high-quality work under pressure
Additional Details
This position is part time and based between Beccy’s Parliament and constituency offices. The role may require occasional work outside normal hours, including assisting with events alongside the MP as needed.
Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
