Job Details
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced communications professional to drive constituency campaigns, build and maintain Beccy’s public profile. The role includes responsibility for the maintenance and development of all external and digital communications including website, press and social media presence.
Experience in providing communications support is essential, including writing and distributing press releases, updating website content and producing engaging social media and newsletter content.
Person specification
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience of using WordPress and content creation tools such as Canva and video editing tools to create and edit online graphics and video content.
• Experience in using social media platforms, including creating engaging content, monitoring interactions, and responding to enquiries
• Excellent organisational skills, able to prioritise workloads.
• Able to create proactive and reactive communications with all media
• Lead on constituency facing campaigns, using a variety of methods (petitions, surveys, etc.) to engage constituents
• Work collaboratively with the team to arrange and publicise visits and events in the constituency
Additional Details
This position is primarily based at Beccy’s constituency office, however occasional travel to Parliament and attending events around the constituency may be required. The role may require occasional work outside normal hours, including assisting with events alongside the MP as needed. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in promoting Beccy’s work as an MP.
Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
