Job Details

Chris Bryant MP is seeking a dedicated and organised caseworker to join his constituency
team, supporting the residents of Rhondda and Ogmore. This full-time role is based in the
constituency office and offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people’s
lives. If you have excellent communication skills, enjoy problem-solving, and have a passion
for public service, we would love to hear from you.

The vacancy is for 37.5 hours per week, worked over five days, and will be office-based.
Applicants should be highly literate, efficient, and personable, with a good telephone
manner. They should also be well-organised, have strong attention to detail, and
demonstrate a genuine commitment to serving constituents. This position would suit
someone with previous experience as a caseworker, although applications will be
considered from those without specific casework experience.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


• Responding to enquiries from constituents and progressing casework.
• Ensuring casework is dealt with promptly, sensitively, and accurately.
• Logging cases, monitoring progress, and ensuring all identified actions are
completed.
• Maintaining accurate and confidential records, ensuring compliance with data
protection legislation.
• Handling a large volume of casework, drafting responses to constituents, gathering
relevant information, and liaising with the team or external organisations to resolve
cases.
• Accompanying and assisting at constituency visits, surgeries, and other meetings,
and following up as appropriate.
• Occasionally working outside normal working hours and travelling for work, with
prior agreement.

• Excellent written communication and organisational skills.
• Strong time management, prioritisation, and multitasking abilities.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a small team.
• Sympathy with the aims and values of the Labour Party.

Interviews will take place in Tonypandy on Friday 10th January 2025, with a view to the
successful candidate starting as soon as possible.
