 Pamela Nash MP is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Office Manager to support her in the constituency of Motherwell, Wishaw and Carluke.


This is an exciting opportunity to join a new team. This is a full-time role.


Supporting Pamela by leading a busy constituency office, the Office Manager will work with the other members of the team providing excellent service to constituents and supporting her parliamentary work.

The Office Manager’s duties include:


• Manage office budgets, keeping the MP informed of relevant financial matters and liaising with IPSA.
• Lead and maintain a highly professional administrative support function.
• Manage an office team, ensuring accurate personnel records are kept and notifying IPSA of contractual changes.
• Assist with surgeries and other meetings and follow up as appropriate.
• Management of the MP’s diary commitments.
• Liaise with groups/personnel including at Westminster, within the constituency and the public on the MP’s behalf as necessary.
• Ensure all cases are logged; monitor progress and ensure all identified actions are taken.
• Engage professionally, confidentially with care and integrity with members of the public, through telephone enquiries, social media, emails and face to face.
• Identify training opportunities and ensure the office team maintain and develop knowledge of relevant legislation. 
• Deal with security matters, keep abreast of security guidance, liaise with external bodies as appropriate.
• Provide high quality, efficient and effective support to the MP and interest groups as required.
• Conduct parliamentary research, as required.
• Horizon-scanning, anticipate what advice or action may be required; proactively identify problems and resolve them.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working as a Senior Administrator/Office Manager and managing a busy diary.
• Excellent organisation and communication skills, experience managing staff and a commitment to outstanding service.
• There may be requirement for the role holder to work outside of normal hours and travel for work occasionally.
• Highly motivated individual, with a can-do attitude and ability to work independently and collectively as part of a small team.
• Sympathetic to the Labour Party's aims, values and objectives

Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
