Job Title: Research and Campaigns Manager
Working For: Labour Movement for Europe
Location: London
Salary: £45,000
Length of Contract: one year
Job Details
The Labour Movement for Europe is Labour’s only affiliate body dedicated to our future relationship with Europe. Doubling in size in the last two years, there are now more LME MPs than there are Conservatives in Parliament.
Working in both Westminster and remotely, our Research and Campaigns Manager will be briefing MPs, councillors, CLPs and journalists as part of supporting the LME’s objectives. Alongside our leadership team of Chair, President and National Secretary, this person will also manage the LME’s Campaigns Administrator and assist with volunteer management.
This is not a job for anyone who wants to sell false hope or retweet press releases. This role will not involve seeking to rerun the 2016 referendum. It is for someone who can produce expert and easy to read briefings and articles at pace, understands the Labour movement and its quirks and wants to get stuck into making the case for what the UK's future could hold working with Europe.
Flexible and hybrid working options are also available for this role.
Specific duties will include:
· Producing regular briefings and updates on a wide range of issues connected to the Labour movement and Europe at request for LME MPs and activists - specialist research and copy writing skills would be a benefit, willingness to argue a case a requirement
· Leading LME Briefing sessions and seminars and producing content to support activism arising from these activities
· Supporting responses to queries from members of the LME, media and other stakeholders
· Oversight and development of resources- this includes databases, fundraising, organising and volunteers
· This role will require occasional evening and weekend work
The successful candidate will have:
· Previous experience of producing briefings and articles at pace for campaigns or publication is required
· Awareness of the structures of the Labour Party and wider Labour movement
· An understanding of European affairs would be beneficial but not essential
· Effective communication and management skills to help support the wider work of the LME
· Experience with campaigns technology including social media and video production
Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office.
Closing Date: 31 January 2025
Interview/Start Dates
Applications close at noon on Friday 31st January. Interviews will be held during the week of the 3 – 7th February, with the successful candidate to start as soon as possible.
Reasonable expenses to enable candidates to attend the interview will be reimbursed.

Send a CV and cover letter of up 500 words to lmereplyemail@gmail.com.
