Person specification:
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Strong attention to detail
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, while also working effectively as part of a small team
• Digital communications experience, including proficiency in social media use including Facebook, X and Next Door.
• Proficiency in video and graphic editing tools to produce high quality visual content.
Key responsibilities:
• Running digital campaigns and developing a social media presence
• Monitoring constituency social media groups
• Producing online graphics and video content
• Managing social media accounts and monitoring social media comments
• Developing and delivering a communications plan
• Handling press enquiries
• Drafting occasional press releases
• Preparing media briefings for the Member of Parliament
• Ensuring casework that is sent to the MP through digital channels is handed to the casework team to be processed
• Occassional travel to the constituency required with costs covered
• Any other reasonable duties as required by the Member of Parliament.
Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
