Job Details
The role would suit an intern looking to step up, the successful applicant will work closely with my Senior Parliamentary Assistant and would be assisting the team with research, communications, policy casework and administrative tasks. An interest in transport, education and health, along with having some knowledge of the local area would be beneficial but not necessary.
Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.

Key responsibilities:
• Diary/main inbox and management of parliamentary timetable
• Undertaking research and compiling briefings to support the Senior Parli Assistant in their role.
• Analysing, evaluating and interpreting data
• Attending and participating in meetings when required ensure all actions are followed up.
• Organising events and visits within parliament.
• Create social media content and monitor media coverage
• Monitor the MP’s social media accounts and develop strategies to increase engagement
• Write opinion pieces and press releases
• Responding to routine correspondence and enquiries.
• Undertake project management work to support the delivery of the MP’s objectives for the Constituency, including preparing briefing notes on constituency issues, drafting letters to ministers and external agencies and organising meetings with relevant stakeholders
