Communications Manager
Enhance FBUK’s reputation with media, Members, and government stakeholders. Position FBUK as the leading authority on family business issues and advocate for family businesses in the UK. Develop FBUK as a vibrant network aiming for a prosperous and sustainable future. Implement strategic communication initiatives for thought leader. Shape and deliver compelling messaging to strengthen our influence and foster engagement with the family business community.
You will be a strategic creative communicator with a strong understanding of media relations, stakeholder engagement, and digital communications. Excellent writing and storytelling skills are essential, along with a proactive and adaptable approach. Experience in writing for magazines/periodicals is advantageous.
Policy and Research Manager
Support FBUK’s policy reach and presence. Identify key areas of interest for members, produce high-quality research and policy documents, and influence policymaking. Work closely with the Policy Director, engaging members, politicians, officials, and other stakeholders. Track policy developments, conduct research, and contribute to publications such as consultation responses, reports, briefings.
With a strong analytical mindset, excellent research and writing skills, and a keen interest in policy and public affairs. Proactivity, attention to detail, and comfort engaging with various stakeholders are essential. A passion for understanding family business challenges and translating complex issues into clear insights is crucial.
Public Affairs Manager
Develop and implement a public affairs strategy to enhance FBUK’s profile, influence policymakers, securing support for our mission. Work with colleagues to ensure FBUK is central to policy discussions, engaging with government, parliamentarians, and other stakeholders. Identify opportunities within the parliamentary calendar, coordinate impactful campaigns, and develop compelling messaging ensuring political and public support.
A proactive strategic communicator with a strong understanding of the UK political landscape with a passion for public affairs. Excellent relationship-building skills, and persuasive messaging abilities are essential. An interest in policy development and the ability to navigate complex political environments are key.
