Labour MP Alex Mayer is seeking a paid intern for her constituency office.

You need to be enthusiastic, a self-starter and politically switched on.

This internship will include:

• Replying to members of the public who have let their MP know their views on a variety of issues
• Designing issue based surveys
• Designing social media graphics and scheduling posts
• Monitoring the local media and assisting with organising constituency engagements
• Collating information for briefings and diary management
• Taking on a research project
• Learning how to draft Parliamentary Questions
• Other administrative tasks as determined by Head of Office

Applicants should have a proven commitment to the aims of the Labour Party and trade union movement.

The intern will be given a parliamentary laptop and can work from the Leighton Buzzard constituency office and/or remotely from home. There will be an opportunity to visit Westminster from time to time. Full training will be provided, with appropriate support and supervision in place. This is a full time role.

Our first intern has now gone on to find a permanent role in an MP’s office so this could be a great stepping stone for you too.
