Job Details
Edward Morello MP is seeking a part time (0.5 FTE) Caseworker to join his busy constituency office team.
Caseworkers can manage a sizable workload and the successful applicant will be results-driven, self-starter who can work in a prompt, accurate and confidential manner.
Key Responsibilities:
• Handle a large volume of constituent queries via phone, email, social media, and face-to-face meetings
• Manage a diverse caseload, from standard inquiries to complex cases, ensuring prompt, sensitive, and accurate responses
• Draft correspondence to constituents, government agencies, and other relevant organisations
• Maintain a efficient casework management system, logging all cases and monitoring progress
• Assist with MP surgeries, constituency meetings, and follow up on actions as required
• Ensure all records and information are managed confidentially and in compliance with data protection legislation
• Conduct research on various policy areas to support casework resolution
Essential Skills and Experience:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organisational abilities with attention to detail
• Proficiency in IT systems, including MS Office and social media platforms
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Empathetic approach with strong interpersonal skills
• Capacity to manage a demanding workload and prioritize effectively
• Discretion and ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
• Research skills and ability to quickly understand complex issues
• Commitment to providing high-quality constituent service
• Sympathy with the aims and values of the Liberal Democrat Party
Desirable Skills:
• Previous casework or customer service experience
• Understanding of the local constituency issues
• Knowledge of parliamentary and government processes
• Full driving license
Additional Information:
• Some work outside normal office hours will be required, particularly for MP surgeries
• Occasional travel within the constituency may be necessary
• Flexibility to accommodate occasional unsocial hours
