United Against Malnutrition & Hunger was launched in March 2023, with funding from the Gates Foundation and the Eleanor Crook Foundation, as a dynamic, single-focus organisation to make a pragmatic, compelling case for UK investment to combat global malnutrition and hunger.
We bring a new and innovative approach to advocacy, campaigns, and communications which draws in new and unexpected voices, unlocking public and political engagement. One of the ways we do this is through convening, facilitating, and delivering events that have an impact, raising the profile of malnutrition and hunger, opening up space for those with expertise and lived experience from the frontline, and bringing new voices to the debate from the global south, and from business, finance, faith groups, research institutions, civil society, and diplomatic and military backgrounds in the UK.
We are looking for a part-time Events Consultant who will help to implement this programme of events to drive public and political awareness, engage politicians, and achieve political change.
This role offers an exciting opportunity for an events specialist who wants to use their skills to help create a better world. You will be a highly organised individual with strong project management skills, able to deliver high-quality events that achieve impact.
Responsibilities include:
• Managing and implementing the events programme and strategy.
• Coordinating domestic and international visits.
• Coordinating and executing Parliamentary events, including with the APPG on Nutrition for Development.
Required skills and experience
• A proven track record of coordinating and delivering high-quality, complex events.
• Excellent project management skills with a high degree of independence.
• Demonstrable evidence of working effectively to deliver within a team.
• Strong communications skills and a keen eye for detail.
• Adept at juggling multiple priorities.
• Experience working with politicians at a senior level and on Parliamentary events, preferred.
Please note, this role is offered on a part-time basis (two days per week) over a period of 12 months. The role will occasionally require the ability to work outside of core working hours (9am to 5.30pm) including attendance at evening and weekend events.
The Selection Panel will be reviewing applications as they arrive on a rolling basis and may appoint before the closing date.
If you are interested in exploring the role further, please apply as soon as you are able at info@uamh.org, including your CV, a cover letter, and contact information.
