Salary: Inline with IPSA Intern payscale, starting at £23,810

Job Details

Katie is keen to bring a current university student or recent graduate into her office from June to help with her work. The right person will be smart, organised, politically astute, methodical and highly driven.

The role will involve helping broadly across the team, including with policy casework, political research and constituency projects. Katie’s work is highly varied and the right person will be happy to muck in and take responsibility for whatever needs doing.

This role can be based in Kent, in Westminster, or a mixture of both (some travel to each will be required to join Katie wherever she is working).

Responsibilities:
•⁠ ⁠Draft responses to policy questions from constituents
•⁠ ⁠Research national and local issues for Katie’s work in Parliament and her constituency
•⁠ ⁠Monitor local and national media for news relevant to Katie’s work
•⁠ ⁠Deliver constituency engagement projects
•⁠ ⁠Any other duties and tasks as needed

Criteria:
•⁠ ⁠Strong analytical and research skills, including the ability to synthesise large volumes of information
•⁠ ⁠Flexible, organised and efficient, and so able to manage a complex and dynamic workload
•⁠ ⁠Able to work independently and as part of a small team
•⁠ ⁠Sympathetic to the aims and values of the Conservative Party

This role will be a pro-rated paid placement (paid at the IPSA intern rate), to start as soon as the successful candidate gets security clearance.
