Civitas: Institute for the Study of Civil Society has run an outstanding network of after-school classes and Saturday schools in London since 2005 - providing charitably funded very low-cost English and maths lessons to children who will benefit from extra educational support, but who do not have access to expensive private tuition.

We are looking for new teachers for school year 2025/26, starting this September 2025. A professional teaching qualification isn’t required - we value excellence in subject knowledge over formal training - but some experience of tuition would be an advantage. You would be teaching a small group of pupils, aged 7-11, at one of our London schools, supporting them to overcome the hurdles in their learning, and helping them to catch-up after two years of huge disruption to their education and lives.
