Your role

This role provides support and coordination to multiple teams within the Lifesaving Operations department and contributes to ongoing service improvements. You’ll engage and collaborate with RNLI volunteers and staff, providing a high level of support to the delivery of our lifesaving services.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you will:

- Work closely with the Central Operations and Information Room managers to help provide this critical 24/7/365 function; taking and actioning calls from the coast, recording key information, providing reporting to the wider organisation and fulfilling a range of core tasks on their behalf.
- Provide additional capacity to a wide range of teams within the Lifesaving Operations department; adapting to their working practices and maintaining knowledge of their processes and systems in order to work as part of the team when needed.
- Learn all about our navigational aids, particularly the paper charts, in order to manage core functions and provide support and guidance to our Lifeboat Stations.
- Use a wide range of standard and bespoke IT systems; developing expertise across the full range in order to help maintain sites and systems and provide training and support to others.
- Spend a lot of time communicating with a wide range of people, providing excellent customer service
