Job Details
This an exciting opportunity to work as part of an MP’s team and help deliver change for the people of Peterborough.
The post-holder will assist with the day-to-day activity of a busy MP’s constituency office.
Responsibilities:
• Diary management
• Assist with surgeries and meetings as appropriate
• Open, handle and action post and constituency related emails
• Assist with arrangements for events – including venue research and bookings, compiling, and managing guestlists, liaising with suppliers, and providing on the-day event support
• Handle administrative arrangements for meetings with members of the public/MP surgeries/coffee mornings
• Respond to enquiries by telephone and email, passing on queries to another team members/MP as appropriate
• Retain records and information confidentially and in line with the Data Protection Act
• Efficient data and file management to ensure the office complies with the data protection legislation
• Liaise with suppliers when required regarding office supplies and security.
• Any other relevant tasks as required by the MP, Senior Caseworker or Chief of Staff.
• There may be a requirement for the role holder to work outside of normal working hours and travel for work occasionally.
Skills and Experience:
• Excellent administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise different tasks.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Confident in IT skills, and using Microsoft Outlook, Planner and Teams.
• A commitment to the aims and values of the Labour Party.
• Experience of office administration is desirable.
• A full UK driving license is desirable
The successful applicant may be required to work occasional evenings and weekends, with appropriate time of off in lieu, alongside occasional travel to London.
