We are looking for a digital and communications officer to join the Christians on the Left team.

Key responsibilities:

• Work with director to develop our creative & digital communications strategy.
• Update and monitor social media channels (currently: X, Bluesky, Facebook, Linkedin).
• Produce press releases, liaise with the media, meeting deadlines as appropriate.
• Keeping the website updated with regular content; working with the director and other exec committee members as appropriate to plan content.
• Design graphics for use in events, campaigns etc.
• Promote events online and elsewhere
• Assist with events planning where required (e.g. Labour party conference)
• Monitoring membership database and responding to member queries.
• Produce and send member emails via Mailchimp, roughly twice a month, along with quarterly e-newsletters to subscribers.
• Some additional administrative tasks where necessary.

Requirements:

• Interest and/or experience of social media and digital communications.
• Familiarity with/willingness to learn software including Canva, MailChimp, SquareSpace and membership database management.
• Commitment to and sympathy with CotL’s purpose, vision and values and a general interest in politics.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing, verbally and online.
• Excellent organisational, administrative and time management skills, including an ability to meet tight deadlines
